Reflections on the June 25th Portal

Strange day yesterday. Being so close following the Solstice, it seemed extra long. Plus it was one of those sunny and grey days, with numerous alternating weather fronts moving across our region thundering, lightning and spritzing, between moments of glistening sunlight, all the while playing havoc with my nasal passages. It kept me from enjoying any time under The Old Man, as the Chaise Lounge never got a chance to dry, and I didn’t want to tempt the electricity in the clouds. The animals felt it too. Lots of sleeping. Claire and Honey spent most of their day in the new barn, listening to classical music in the wood shavings under fans. They came out during an afternoon sunny respite to graze.

The dogs spent most of their day napping.

Smokey the cat spent most of the day sleeping in the high grass under JTS. She came out only to feed. But she was quite vocal when she did.

Even the birds seemed unusually quiet. Background players.

Now the Astrologists tell us last night was the New Moon in Cancer. With all kind of other special planetary influences at play, like Uranus and Jupiter. It’s supposed to provide some form of energy shift that will carry on through the end of the month.

So, the Casa Claire creatures must be feeling it. I, on the other hand, was feeling pretty good. Got some early morning grounding in. Got my intention candles burning. Added an extra lap to my swimming routine yesterday morning because there was no one waiting for a lane. Went around CC topping off all of the water sources for the creatures on top of the regular day-to-day caretaking duties. Hydration is key during these hot summer months.

Had another one of those strange quest dreams last night. Never the same journey. This one wasn’t a dystopian setting. I think there may have been a train trip involved. However, my avatar again escaped some uncomfortable jam in the moment by waking up and the real me immediately forgetting it. I do remember that there were other people around in the dream this time. I wasn’t alone when my conscious mind pulled me out. I was interacting with someone. And I felt like I was getting something wrong that I needed to fix. I always mean to write it down but the real world requires that I land on my feet and let the dogs out, feed them and the feral cats, and then feed the mules. No time for nocturnal reflection. Dreams disappear like vapors in the here and present. Just shadows of feelings left behind.

Well, I’m hoping the energy here at CC levels up to an upgraded plane.

You fine, five readers get that second cuppa down the hatch. Get out there and conspire with Thursday to wrap up this work week a little early. Summer Fridays are not meant for business. I’m heading out for my rounds soon, but first another cup of Joe.

But no matter what else we get up to, let us make today a great one.

  1. I find dreams can be quite fascinating when they play out in a similar form in real life. Of course you have to remember them, write them down in a dream journal, then follow up over time to see if there is any later connection. Easier said then done when we are busy with our awake life.
