The Wise Novelist

Who Killed Doc Robbin

A murder most fowl!

Yesterday morning, when I went outside to feed the kitties and water the plants, I was shocked and dismayed to find Dead Doc Robbin tucked face down in my wife’s geraniums.

Now it wasn’t the feral cats or any other natural predator, given that, upon closer inspection the Doc Robbin was intact and unscarred.

Claire and Honey said that, like Seargent Shultz, they saw nothing.

From the positioning of the otherwise unmarked body, and the wings somewhat extended, I can only surmise in pure Sherlockian fashion that poor Doc Robbin passed of natural causes – possibly a coronary, as he leapt from the fence to take off, and plummeted into the Geraniums. I’ve arranged for the grans to provide proper mourning services and will see to the burial today.

Case closed.

Yesterday was spent trying to clear out the furniture from the Geppetto Studio and into the garage, so that Luke and Georgie can take it with them to their future home. Luckily my Herculean eldest son did all of the moving, which is okay, given that I was the one left to move it all down to Geppetto’s in the first place when they up and left for Oz.

I was busy emptying, cleaning and refilling outside water troughs and shoveling shit.

There are still some bits and pieces left but I’m now able to visualize the interior of what will be Claire and Honey’s new digs by the fall.

I’m going to perform all my future fruit and veggie prep on the wooden counter against the far wall and place a large refrigerator at the end of the counter to store it all. I have to order 6 x 6 cedar beams to outline and anchor a stall area along the floor large enough for them both to recline at night. Claire insists on an open floor concept so I won’t actually build interior walls – within which I will install wood to wood rubber matting over the cement floor and then fill with a few inch layer of replaceable soft wood shavings. I’ll place the large metal floor hay rack on the wall to the right of where you can see the side door and the wall hay rack between the two windows in the other photo. I have a large fan on the roof, but I’ll probably shift the large wall fan from the other barn. I’ll hang heaters off the over head wooden beams and also have the 16 gallon water trough inside, where I can serve heated water during the winter.

I’m sure the sounds and smell of my prepping their food will lure the mules into the building. The chopping sounds alone has the effect of a schoolyard bell.

The old barn will become a storage area for the winter hay.

I’m loving the new interior rail barn doors. Going to get Georgie to paint protective Sigils on them.

I had a recovered Church Pew in the art studio which now fits perfectly beside Skyclad. We provide non-denominational support here at Casa Claire.

Brings to mind those altar boy pew races all those years ago at St. Maggies.

Finally, I’ve started on a trial fungi based supplement regime using Auri Nutrition products.

https://www.tryauri.com/ For the next 30 days I’ll be including Super Mushroom Gummies and Elixir to my daily intake. Stay tuned.

Well, the sun is rising, so I need to get a move on.

Still need to clean and refill the front trough and shovel some shit.

But first, some kitty cuddling and my rounds.

You fine, five readers rest up for the abbreviated week ahead.

Maybe read a book. BBQ in the afternoon when its not so hot.

But no matter what else we get up to, let us make today a great one.
