Warning, I Stop For Visuals

I was coming back from Longmont the other day and as I came over a rise on the county road, I spotted the Three Witches in the opening shot looking just breathtaking. So I pulled over and snapped the photo.

The shot captured the idea of the three mountains that I tried to convey in The Claire Saga. Powerful, majestic.

Hemingway had Kilimanjaro, I have the Three Witches. Neither of us were climbers.

It’s the inspiration that counts.

The wonderful thing about driving around in a relatively rural area is that if you see something that triggers a visual response, like the Three Witches, you can pull over without worrying that the asshole behind you is going to slam into the back of your car.

And if you try to live in the moment, like I do, you are prone to spontaneous decision making.

For example, yesterday afternoon, on my way back from picking up some Pizza subs at Jimmy Johns (I know, they’re “heros”) I spotted this magnificent tree that I just felt the urge to hug.

So, I pulled over and leaned back against the tree, as I wanted to get a scale shot of how tall it was.

I had kicked off my Birks and planted my feet in the rich soil – this tree borders a hay farm.

Which is when I noticed the imprint of another foot directly to the left of my bare feet.

(Looks like I may have missed a spot removing Stella’s toenail polish.)

The imprint couldn’t have been too old, and the imprint was facing away from the tree like my feet were, so the person(?) was probably leaning against the tree like I was.

Anyway I took a couple of close ups of the imprint, in these the toes are along the right edge of the photos,

Given that there seems to be a larger toe on the upper left of the imprint (upper right corner of the photo) it was probably a right foot.

Now the imprint was close to the size of my own bare feet (a 10 in Birks), so we are not talking Sasquatch here (unless its a baby Squatch). It was nonetheless fascinating, as it suggests that some other person felt compelled to pull off the road and ground by this magnificent tree. Morever, like me – who normally faces a tree so I can place my hands on it, this one leaned back on the tree and faced away from it almost in the same spot. Kindred spirits indeed.

The tree will tell you the best way to tap into its energy.

And who knows how long that imprint has been sitting there, waiting for me to discover it.

Also confirms that my energy detector is unerring. I can feel the best places to tap into Mother Gaia’s energy grid.

Well, that impulsive moment made my Monday just a bit more bearable, as I learned shortly afterwards – in a text from BC (who is just excellent at sharing bad news) – that the decisions were finally made by the Face of Halloween Powers that Be, that I had not made the last cut on the Wildcard round of the contest.

However, I was nonetheless thrilled that my generous friends and family, old and new, near and far, had contributed lots of money to the Starlight Children’s Foundation,

and when its all said and done, that’s what matters.

So thank you one and all for your support.

Well, the Monday ended on a mystical note, with the first of three nights of the beautiful Hunter’s Moon, which is a supermoon, peeked through the cloud cover over Casa Clair.

While I tapped into the energy grid under the Old Man and the Beagle brothers took their pees and checked the perimiter before calling it a night.

My nephew Evan – Oldest Son of The Ginger – and a kindred soul, had just sent me a photo of the same moon over Longbeach on the East Coast, so I was determined to set eyes on it.

Definitely a ring around it.

Well, its Tuesday, which always provides a post Monday boost.

So, my fine, five readers, get that last cuppa down the hatch and head out to the workplace. You need to knock those projects on their head today so that, beginning tomorrow, your post humptal momentum will be focused on getting you safely back to the weekend.

And no matter what else you do, if you feel the urge, stop and smell the roses, or at least hug a tree, or a friend, or even a stranger, and let’s make today a great one.
