The Tinkerbell Effect

You all are aware by now of my affinity towards JM Barrie and his Peter Pan. I am particularly fond of its real world genesis.

Indeed, while I don’t manifest some of the more troubling markers, I remain a proud, self-diagnosed sufferer of a mild form of Peter Pan Syndrome.

Well, there is actually another psychological phenomenon that was spawned by the other major character in JMB’s wonderful stories, of which I am also a proud adherent.

It is called the “Tinkerbell Effect,” which is effectively summed up by the psychologist, Dr. Brittany McGeehan, Ph.D. as follows: “The idea is that something exists or works in the world because people believe in it, so it’s the belief itself that brings something into existence.”

Turns out, the TE is basically a variant of the Law of Attraction:

Which is basically an overlap of modern day witchcraft.

In short, all of these outlier belief systems adhere to the idea that reality begins with a personal thought which is then brought into your physical existence through your manipulation of energy, frequency and vibration. https://consciousspaces.com/en-us/blogs/science/good-vibrations-how-frequencies-hold-the-key-to-life

If you have read The Claire Saga, you will have figured out that, no matter what you call it, I’m all in.

Indeed, I point to the very existence of TCS as proof positive that my belief system works.

Let me give you the latest example.

Early yesterday morning, while I was surfing my social media, I came across a listing for what I can only describe as an incredible lamp being offered on FB Marketplace.

Now, assuming you are one of my regular fine, five readers, you will also know that I had just posted a blog about my interactions with a particularly rambunctious dragonfly literally the day before,

in which I describe all of the mystical connotations with the dragonfly.

Well, as a big believer in synchronicity

I knew I had to have this lamp, if for no other reason than to regularly visually trigger my subliminal connections to the Fae, and to other writers who dabble in those beliefs.

So, I immediately posted my interest in that lamp during those very early hours, hoping I was the first and/or only one to see it.

In fact, as I will explain a little later, as I learned a few hours later, it turns out I was only one of forty others that would die for that lamp.

I had almost given up on hearing back on it, as on-line shopping is a full contact sport. Not for the weak of heart.

My phone chimed at about half past nine am.

Well, without boring you (more) with the negotiations, by around 10 am my faithful Toyota Rav 4 – yes, the same one from TCS – pulled up in front of the coolest looking house in Longmont, Colorado.

The one in the opening of this blog.

And inside that house, which had the coolest sign out front that said “Hippies use the side door,” was one of the coolest people I’ve met. Her name is Karen Kennedy. Irish by name, Nordic by blood. Mystical by Nature.

And there beside her was the lamp.

We shared some biographical background – which included a common love for JRR Tolkien – that is reflected on her part in the fact that she has a model of the Ent, Treebeard, with a sword brandishing Frodo standing on his shoulders, buried in that very cool plant behind the lamp in the photo.

My kind of woman, indeed.

Anyway, while we were chatting she let’s slip that she’s not really sure why she responded to my particular inquiry, given that there were forty waiting for her when she awoke that morning. For some reason, mine, number two on her list of lamp suitors, was the first inquiry her finger went to and opened.

I offered her the only explanation I could summon. “It had to be magic.”

Well, I promised her that her fairy lamp was going to the best possible home, and explained how the Fae play such an important role in my spiritual belief system and writing, and how this fairy’s new home was the central locale in TCS. She made sure to write down the details and promised to read TWA.

We parted fast friends.

A half hour later, I was presenting the Fairy to the godmother of Casa Claire, who was waiting for me under The Ladies by our driveway.

who informed me that the fairy’s name was Tinkerbell. Of course it is.

And this wonderful, mystical creature now sits front and center before The Grand Kahuna

as if it was built to host her.

And that arrival just began a day of natural magic that occurs every day here at Casa Claire, including the visitation by other beautiful flying creatures,

As well as the wonderful creature that brought us all together her at Casa Claire.

And here’s where you get to make that decision on whether the Tinkerbell Effect actually works.

Have I made you believe in my blogs and my books that Casa Claire truly is a magical place?

If so, clap your hands.

Well, Fridays are always magical, so let us embrace it – it’s only one of two left in our unofficial summer season, so please remind all of your Amazon Prime members friends that they are running out of time to take advantage of the free read of an Amazon e-book version of The Wise Ass.

Then again, if I haven’t convinced you by now, you are probably a hopeless fairy denier.

But I will assume that if you keep returning to my blogs that is not true, and that you are a true believer.

And since that is the case, let me exercise the Tinkerbell Effect one more time so that we all make today a great one.

  1. The lamp is beautiful, but what I find interesting is that with all that you have going on in your life, you actually have time to peruse FB marketplace!
