After yesterday’s post, I needed to channel some life affirming energy.
What better way to do that then by embracing the Summer Solstice.
It was a beautiful day.
After feeding Mittens/Mike in the Jack the Spruce Grotto,

I received a sign I had ordered and placed it on the outer front fence to officially place the world on notice that Casa Claire is indeed a magical realm protected by the Fae.

and then I ran to the store to grab some Wheat Thins for Claire and Honey, and in the parking lot was addressed very loudly by a couple of crows – who have no doubt heard from my Casa Claire Murder of some of their cousins, that I am worth a few good words.

One actually swooping down to get a better look to make sure I wasn’t just Poppa Smurf.
Then, after a day laboring at my legal mental gymnastics, I got word that a old bronze statute of a Faerie I had my eye on was available for purchase, and so I made the exchange and placed the wonderful female creature before the Great Kahuna in my living room,

to keep the male Cherub on the opposite opening to the fireplace, company.

The Cherub couldn’t take his eyes off her.
But as the day wore down, and the evening air cooled, I sat out on the back deck and watched as two lovely bats patrolled the skies and devoured the mosquitoes that had come out to feed (on me).

They are a lot faster than my camera eye.
Finally, when 8:42 pm chimed, the moment of the Solstice, I went to the Old Man and channeled and grounded some wonderful Solstice energy through these old Celtic bones.

Then I returned to the back deck and lay on a chaise lounge, and watched the stars appear above me.

It wasn’t until I saw a beautiful bright meteor streak across the heavens – too fast for these old fingers to track – but not too fast for a wish – that I called it a night and removed to my night lair.
I slept like a baby.
So the latest sign on Casa Claire’s fence has once again proven true – The Fae do enchant this area.
Well today has chores that I need to take care of, so I better get moving.
You fine five readers, stay out of the heat. Just short forays to get your solar energy fix and some Vitamin D.
Maybe read a book in the cool, airconditioned living room.
But no matter what you get up to, make today a great one.

I love that sign! To be forewarned is to be forearmed and may it be a warning to any who should approach Casa Claire with evil or harmful intent.
I’m really happy to hear you had such a wonderful day. Your welcoming of the Summer Solstice your words and pics, are much appreciated. Thank you for sharing.
I love the sign too! It’s perfect and I’m sure the fairies danced some extra flips in appreciation.
Love the stars!! I see the upside down Big Dipper
Have you gone so far as to offer a bit of milk and bread for the fae? My great grandmother did it regularly and taught my mother not to mess with them.
