My only grandson (as of yet), and eldest grandchild, John Lucian Mattiace (pron. “Matisse,” like Henri), who goes by his middle name “Lucian,” is the basis for the character Lucian in The Claire Saga.

Loosh, as the family likes to call him, has always leaned in towards the arts.

We have retired the moniker – “Lucian Bear” – out of respect for him entering his teens. However, one should never sleep on anyone who has a “Bear” suffix to his name: https://youtu.be/plOJagzWTQY?si=outxnFyJWIN21ve1
Now Loosh does not get as much ink in these blogs as our other, toxically and ferally female grans – who are more proximate familial tormentors and marauders of Casa Claire – because he lives in Georgia, splitting time between the homes of his mom (our daughter Jackie) – that’s the two of them before they went to dinner in the South Park (South America) creators’ impossible to get reservations restaurant –

and stepdad, Zack (who resembles a LOTR warrior Elf – and I mean that as a compliment) and his biological dad, Jackie’s X.
(Here’s a literary easter egg – I incorporated their Georgia family home into the plotline of Free R.A.D.I.C.A.L.)
Lisa has seen a lot more of Loosh over the years than I have, given that she will travel down to Georgia once or twice a year while I hold the NoCo fort, but I do usually get to see him during winter break, when Jackie, Zack and Loosh stay at her family chalet in Breckenridge for a few weeks of skiing, snowboarding and whatever else young upwardly mobile millennials do in the winter mountains. If I’m lucky, they stop at Casa Claire. If not, I make the dreaded round trip into the Colorado mountain range.
Loosh attends a wonderful Georgia school called Galloway, where he is encouraged to pursue his artistic interests. Indeed, the school has a program where certain artwork is exhibited on-line and made available for purchase with the school receiving a portion of the purchase price. Over the years, Lucian has provided his art to the program.
His most recent work, an Appliqué Portrait of a well-known music artist, seen above as the opening photo, really caught my eye.

It has an Andy Warhol feel to it. I hope someday it carries and AW fame and price to it.
So of course, Lisa has placed our order.
Anyway, I just wanted to do a little extra Dude bragging over my wonderful grandson, Loosh (née Bear), to make sure I keep the family’s legacy scales balanced.
Love you, Lucian. keep being you.
Well, my fine, five readers, welcome to another Tuesday (named after the German God of War).
The good news is that Monday is again behind you and Friday has become that much closer.
So, get that final cuppa down the hatch and get out there and slay some business dragons. Tuesday is great for work’s heavy employment lifting.
And no matter what else we get up to, let’s make today a great one.
