Sunny Days Rock

Decided to get some Vitamin D Therapy yesterday morning.

I did a few minutes of hatless sunning, just to avoid that horrible hat tan line that makes one look absolutely ridiculous. Of course, you must always be conscious of the strength of even a cool NoCo sun at such high altitudes. One minute too much and the next shower feels like a box of ball bearing has been dropped on you head.

I was joined in the morning by my faithful companions, Bandit and Smokey, who, when not pinning me in my chaise lounge, remained very close by to my prone position under the protective canopy of The Old Man.

After I had gotten sufficient solar benefits – https://health.clevelandclinic.org/how-much-sunshine-you-need-daily

And some warm earth grounding.

I really need to get a tan on these hobbit feet.

I returned inside to handle my activities of daily life, including herding the dust elephants that had pretty much taken over the first floor and basement with my trusty broom and dust pan where they were then transported to an outdoor container. I figured I would remove the low hanging fruit from Lisa’s return inspection list on Thursday.

Claire and Honey made one of their many routine stops at the back door and yard area to seek alms (I was returning from the barn where I had just laid out their midday meal).

Before heading up the Giants Causeway to the front for some afternoon grazing.

Honey remaining mostly within the cool shade canopy provided by the old man. An easily accessed trough of cool water at the ready.

After an arduous earlier life of pack carrying servitude that has permanently warped her rib cage under the constant heat of Arizona, Honey deserves to enjoy the cool comforts of Casa Claire any way she wants.

And it is true, the solar and gaianistic synthesis made me feel much better. Placebo effect, maybe. But IMHO, its better than following the suggestions of day time commercials to remediate any mood fluctuations through profitable modern chemistry. Of course, that’s just my completely uninformed opinion, but I haven’t been to the doctors since the last century, so what do I know.

Well, I have chores to see to, and then the business of life, so I need to get moving. Looks like another warm sunny day. I’m going to make sure to soak in some of that sunshine, barefoot and fancy free, before the day is over.

You fine five readers try to get outdoors today, even for just a moment or two. If you are passing a tree, just reach out and touch it, no hugs required. Of course, if you can kick off those shoes for a quick walk across a lawn or two, grab the opportunity. You may be surprised just how real a placebo effect can be.

And no matter what else we all get up, let’s make today a great one.
