The Wise Novelist

Strong Women – The Power

Anyone who has read my books and/or met my family, knows I appreciate strong women. All the females who have remained in my life for the long run are strong. They’ve had to be, they’ve carried me most of the way.

I respect women as equals, appreciate their physical differences and find them extremely attractive.

I’ve never understood the desire for male dominance. I don’t put up with it from other males. I would never want to succeed over a women based upon any physical advantage my testosterone has provided, if any, whether that be on the playing fields or in the courtroom.

I’ve never achieved anything of value other than fatherhood because of my male genitals. And while I have enjoyed the recurring pleasure they have provided, I don’t rely upon them to provide me with an advantage in this world. They are just one arrow in the quiver, so to speak. (pun intended)

If I cannot navigate this world, personally or professionally, using my mind and my words, I wouldn’t want to succeed just because I am a male. To me, it would be like getting a participation trophy just for having a penis.

But if we are going to have true equality, I don’t want my penis held against me. I don’t want to lose points in the world because I have one.

I want to be measured against others based on my actions, my contributions to society, the way I treat others, and not based upon my gender, or any other immutable characteristic I may possess. I also do not want to be judged for the sins of my ancestors.

In return, I promise that I will not judge anyone based upon their gender, culture, skin color, religion, life choices or family history. You arrive in my world with a clean slate. You are who you are and you love who you love. I respect that. Full stop.

With all that in mind I must say how much I am enjoying binge watching the new series, The Power, on Amazon.

First off, the acting is stellar. The writing superb. But most of all, I love the story line. A lot of flip the script moments so far. As much as I want to recount some of the highlights, I don’t want to spoil it for others. I’ll be really interested to see how it all shakes out. Will absolute power corrupt absolutely? I highly recommend it.

Speaking of strong women, I have to run to pick up Lisa from the airport.

So let me flee.

No rounds or dreadmill this morning.

But I will stop for a quick kitty cuddle on the way out the door.

You fine, five readers, get out there and wrap up as much of your work week as you can.

Thursday never minds that workload, and Friday awaits.

But most of all, make today a great one.

Before I go, I just want to mention that FJM has completed 4 weeks on strong legs. Thank you all for your continued support.
