Sliding Through Friday

Yesterday was enjoyably quiet. Luke and Georgie took the kids out to the local rec center in the morning and otherwise kept them occupied elsewhere throughout most of the day.

So I was back focusing on my fur family and other non-human visitors to Casa Claire.

Claire and Honey were acting a bit suspicious by one of the front gates. I thought I heard Honey whisper “walk-about.”

But as soon as they spotted me watching them, they switched to their “Nothing To See Here” prison yard position.

Then they tried to throw me off by splitting up and grazing on other sections

But when I wouldn’t leave the area, they gave up and returned to the back for their morning Siesta.

While I was out front, Smokey came by and hung around the front porch in the Jack The Spruce Grotto as official greeter at Casa Claire

And over by the Old Man copse, a returning Robin successfully navigated my drown-proof front water trough (I really should patent this – but I would rather everyone employ it for free and save birds and other small animals from accidental drowning)

And, speaking of water, I later spotted Blue hanging with Claire by a backyard water bucket, so it must have been warm outside.

But the kiddies ultimately returned and before long, Blue was back at familiar duty.

That’s Savanna, yes, from the books.

So, it was a restful Friday indeed, and Lisa and I closed it out last night binging on season 5 of The Resident on Netflix – which we finally figured out how to load on our basement TV.

But today is Saturday, so there are chores to do.

Although, first, I do have an appointment with Anna at the Face Spa.

But first some kitty cuddling and my rounds.

I hope you fine, five readers have a weekend of pleasure before you.

This is one of the special 3 day weekends that launches the unofficial start to the summer season, and I love the summer.

So reach out to family and friends, throw or attend a BBQ, watch the Rangers take the lead today.

Call a friend you haven’t talked to in a while. Catch up.

Maybe, before the BBQ, and after the game, find a quiet corner and read a book, or complete that series that has been sitting on your bedroom night stand. .

It’s a great weekend for some escapism.

But no matter what else we find ourselves doing, let us make today a great one.
