Okay, so yesterday I was a man on a mission. I had three primary goals. The first was to get the heaters replaced in Claire’s Wee Laire (intentional sp.). The second was to finish the novel We Call Her Rose by Stefanie Barnfather and post my Amazon review, and the third was to place Stefanie’s book, along with Gregory Hill’s East of Denver on the Mike O’Shay’s Literary Bookshelf.
I took the opening sign of the moon over the Three Witches, spotted on my way back from rounds, was a good omen that yesterday was going to be productive.
To tell you the truth, Joe Rogan’s Alpha Brain supplements must be kicking in. I was on fire.
I was back from my rounds early and I got an equally early start on the heaters. I got the old heaters swapped out with the new ones in place in record time without a hitch. Not usually my style.
Then it was onto SB’s book. I had made a good dent in it Saturday afternoon and evening, again JR’s ABS, so I knew I could get it done. It was a fine read, check the review, and – fueled by coffee, lemonade and a Snicker’s ice cream bar(s) – was completed without interruption on a beautiful day on the back deck. I was finished with the book and review by late afternoon. Well done SB!
Then I grabbed the inscribed copy of WCHR, which mentioned a hope there was room on the MOS shelf, and the inscribed book by local Coloradan author Gregory Hill, East of Denver, which Carole Becker had told me would be perfect for Mike O’Shay’s Literary Bookshelf, and made my pilgrimage.
Lonnie Bell was thrilled with his two newest additions.
He is definitely putting that second level on the MOS Literary Bookshelf.
And, as an added bonus, I got to catch up with Kyle Dooley, the pony-tailed man at the bar just over Lonnie’s shoulder, whose character is the Hell’s Kitchen Bartender in FJM.
My next read/review on the TBR stack is Bewitched, by Jessica Tate, which I promised I would read in October, before Halloween. I try to catch up on my reading when I’m not writing. I cannot read someone else’s work while I’m creating my own. It’s nice to be back in the reading saddle.
I even grabbed a few moments yesterday to catch up with a call to my Southern brother-in-law, Terry Sacca, whose son Tyler’s baby shower, Lisa, Jackie and Lucian had attended on Saturday. Terry sounded appropriately thrilled over everything. He is a fine man who is looking forward to the arrival of his grandson. God bless that family.
Once I saw to Claire & Honey’s dinner, I wrapped my Sunday evening binge watching (again) season one of Slings & Arrows on Amazon. A brilliant Canadian series.
Staying busy does make the time fly, so I am faced again with another Monday.
And that’s just fine. I can handle it.
But first, a kitty cuddle and my rounds.
You fine, five readers have that third cup of java, then launch into your new work-week.
It will be over before we know it. Stay positive.
And most of all, make today a great one.
