Okay, so yesterday was the day that Lisa decided would be perfect to host a barbeque for our visiting Aussie/Brit in-laws.
Of course it started out rainy.

But then something happened when I went for my monthly face spa at The Rustic Rose Beauty Salon where I sat, lamenting the horrible weather while I was being transformed from Papa Smurf.

to some semblance of humanity – or at least a passible monster – by my Dr. Frankenstein, Anna. A true and lovely sorceress, who must have taken pity on me.

Because when I returned to Casa Claire, the sun had come out,

and I was able to get the front entrance all spruced up,

in time for the creatures to arrive out front.

and for my wonderful extended Clan members to take their places of honor under The Old Man.
Like Bob, Georgie’s Brit Uncle,

And Bob’s lovely American wife, Karen,

And Nigel, Georgie’s Brit/Aussie Dad,

And Nigel’s lovely wife Sara,

And Sara’s equally lovely sister, Auntie Liz,

And, last but not least, their beautiful Elven bond to my Hobbit family, Georgie.

My son was off at his exciting place of employment, taking care of business.
I stayed around at the adult area long enough to make the introductions to the property’s Matriarch.

However, since I was never that good at socializing with adults, I left that to Lisa, finding that my time was better spent chaperoning the little monsters,

to make sure they did not burn down the house, while they raided my garage and swiped my Halloween decorations.

and they got filthy dirty in that viscous Casa Claire mud, before washing it all off in the pool,

and once they were sufficiently cold, it was another race across the muddy parts of Casa Claire before rinsing off the newly acquired muck in Skyclad, the hot tub.

Of course, there was plenty of feasting and drinking and laughing going on throughout these major milestones, Lisa joined the carnivores with the BBQ’d filet mignon, and a good time was had by all.
However, I did have some of the corn I had shucked earlier,

and it was delicious.
But by the end of the day, my loudly cawing murder of crows flew over head as an omen for the visitors that it was time to wrap up the festivities and call it a day.

And as the Black Moon – with all of its magic –

ascended over Casa Claire, a wonderful stillness descended over the property.

And I took the blackened opportunity to blissfully ground under The Old Man, just out past that magical entrance path.
In the end, yesterday was a complete win.
However, today means that there a lot of chores that were skipped in order to get that Big W, so they need to be seen to today. I better get to it.
I’m hoping my fine, five readers had an equally rewarding Saturday, and that they can take God at his word, and make today as restful as possible.
Maybe pick up a book or five to pass the restful hours.
But, no matter what we get up to, let us make today a great one.
