The Wise Novelist

One More Day And A Wake Up

At sometime after midnight tonight, Amazon will start to ship the orders of Where The Ley Lines Meet.

It officially will be published. Fifth book. Job done. The Claire Saga is complete. But is it over? Not sure. There’s always a life line.

And while writing is purportedly a solitary achievement, that has not been my experience.

I did not get here alone. No one does.

So, I would like to thank . . . .

Lisa, the Missus. Love you.

Claire the Mule (and Honey her PA)

My children, grandchildren, grands, parents and siblings.

Reagan and Minna Rothe and my BRW family.

The Inner Circle of readers. You were amazing. Love you all.

My blood family, flesh and fur, particularly those that inspired the characters.

My old friends who inspired the characters. Especially the OFC. Check the acknowledgments.

My new friends who inspired the characters. Check the acknowledgments.

My book cover blurb providers. May all your books sell-out.

Colin Broderick.

Robert Meloni.

Fergus the dog. Steals WTLLM.

My fine, five blog readers. Claire’s Theorem.

My book readers.

My book reviewers, especially the 5 star. Fuck the 1 star trolls. Karma’s a bitch!

Every cool author who befriended me along the way and offered me encouragement and support. A rising tide floats all boats.

Every publisher or agent that ever rejected my creative work and fed my dumb-mick-fuck-you machine.

Everyone I ever kissed, got drunk with, or fought with, or any and all combinations thereof.

Lou Myers. You told me I am a writer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lou_Myers

Every stranger who has ever traded a smile with me. Restored my faith in humanity.

Every teacher who didn’t give up on me.

The SFWA.

Every serious writer who dismissed my plebeian writing style. As Mickey Spillane so aptly put it:

“Funny thing. Those big-shot writers—pardon me, authors—never could understand why the Mike Hammer books outsold their works. They could never dig the fact that there are more salted peanuts consumed than caviar.”

Pass the salted peanuts.

I’m going to cuddle some kitties and make my rounds.

Let’s all make today a great one.

  2. I’m so excited I got goosebumps reading today’s blog! Not that you sleep much too begin with but I imagine there will be less drinks tonight. I’m thrilled that Like and the family are there for the launch day! ( I’m waiting anxiously for Luke’s sequel)
I know your life is never calm but step back take a breath, you, Lisa and family sit on that deck, gaze over at Claire and Honey and all the other members of you fur family and JUST BREATHE !!!
I can’t wait for all those readers who have pre-order WTLLM get their have on the book and no one we have been saying. Once again you have created a story that will hold them captivated and it will be talked about another l amongst many generations. The appeal to females (your biggest fans) and males of all ages continues to grow. The audience hopefully will make enough noise for Hollywood to hear! 👍🤞🙏

  3. So excited for you, Tom! People are going to love WTLLM and I have no doubt that it will bring even more eyes to your work. You’re a legend!
