Old Habits Die Hard – Simply Sacred Oils

During my text exchanges over the past few days with the wonderful CSHS Class of 74 Alumnae Association, one of its illustrious members, a fine Celt named Pete Flanagan – https://www.facebook.com/Peepff – shared this 50 year old photograph that had somehow made its way into the 1974 CSHS Yearbook.

Now what struck me was what this Spicoli impersonator was wearing on his wrists. A beaded bracelet on his right wrist and a thicker, probably leather bracelet on his left (Spicoli never wore watches). Those weren’t worn as a fashion statement. That Spicoli had no sense of fashion. Still doesn’t. They were worn because of the energy they provided.

Then I looked down at my 67 year old wrists and was pleasantly surprised to see that, while I may have lost a lot of things over the past 50 years, I still maintain my mystical preferences.

Only I have shifted away from leather, due to my animal rights predilections – there’s a magnet under that cross. My Birks and Crocs are rubber too.

Pete Flanagan scored extra points when he saw the modern day bracelet photo and filled in and deciphered the Latin tattoo on my right forearm – Sapere Aude – “Dare To Know.” (Although I selected it for its less literal, more colloquial interpretation – “Dare To Be Wise”). Well done Pete!

Now the last century Spicoli used to buy his bracelets at head shops (look it up) along the northern side of Kingsbridge Road in the Bronx or at The Magickal Childe in Manhattan (that was a very cool place, which has since closed – https://www.wakingthewitch.com/shops-in-new-york/magickal-childe-closed/).

But ever since my BFF Helen Lalousis (yes, that one) and I reconnected in this lifetime at the turn of this Century (we’ve shared many lifetimes in the past), I’ve managed to secure an endless supply of the coolest and most positive energy bracelets you can imagine –

from Helen’s wonderful company, Simply Sacred Oils

I have been wearing Helen’s bracelets for decades. Wrote all five novels with them providing their mystical energy and balancing my hands above that keyboard.

And whether or not you believe in the energy aspect to the stones, they just look and feel cool.

I also have loads of Helen’s other products throughout my home. Just the aroma they generate alone makes you feel like you are lost in Bed Bath and Beyond (back when you could get lost in their brick and mortar stores).

So, as December 1st is upon us, and Black Friday has kicked Christmas shopping into the stratosphere, I would like to make a recommendation for the perfect place to find that unique gift for that unique someone in your life. Simply Sacred Oils.

However, given that Helen makes all of her products by hand, and she has all kinds of cool products, if you are interested in making a purchase and want to ensure delivery before Christmas (or Yule, if that’s how you lean), I would get those orders in this week.

Well, speaking of magik, it is Friday.

You fine, five readers get out there and do whatever you need to do to wrap up this work week and move onto something more fun and entertaining.

I need to get out there and cuddle some kitties.

Then my rounds.

And let us all go out there and make today a great one.
