Lucian Mattiace Gets His Earring

That’s my grandson, John Lucian Mattiace (pronounced Matisse, like the painter).

Lucian, or, phonetically, Loosh, as he is known, is one of the coolest kids I know. Yes, of course I am biased. But he really is good looking, charming, funny as fuck, smart and can trade wise cracks with the best in the Clan. And he’s only 10 (11 in a couple of months).

Lucian is so cool that I named the little boy character from The Claire Trilogy after him. He’s going to reappear in the sequel all grown up.

Well yesterday my daughter, Jackie, sent me the above photo to inform me that Lucian has joined his grandfather and his uncles in getting his ear pierced.

Three generations of men in this line of the McCaffrey Clan now sport them.

Well done Lucian. I promise to make you an earring wearing bad ass in Where The Ley Lines Meet.

Can tattoos be far off?

Well, I need to get moving. I have to figure out how to do my outdoor chores in the rain.
