Funny Synchronicities

Okay, yesterday I had to skip out of the house early and without warning so my blogging time was consumed by other matters.

But not before I fed my backyard bunny (from the warren under the shed), who now comes out every time I feed Claire and Honey, for his own carrot.

However, I apologize to my fine, five readers – especially to Theresa Collins – for not posting given the last blog from the day before where I described an unusual mystical/physical event – which was included just as an example of the power of detail in spontaneous prose.

As an aside, Jimmy Moran actually named the gnomes – literally p. 145 in KMAG – after my Collins sisters, Theresa, Jeannie, Maureen, [not Eileen], Anne and Mary. Sister Eileen appears as Eileen Cotto in KMAG and WTLLM, as well as the separate man eating central character in FJM that corrupts poor Mark Wallen, and Anne’s character appears making out in a party scene. Eileen and Anne are also part of the inner circle who read my books as they are written.

They are the blood sisters of my Riverdale friend Denis “Murray” Collins, who appears as “Murray Conley” in FJM (remember the pizza scene – true story). Murray (RIP), Michael, Kevin (RIP), Billy, John (RIP) and Brian a/k/a “Peanut” made up the rest of the Collins’ dozen who, along with parents Dutch and Mamma C, treated me like family and were so good to me in the 70s.

Theresa, a talented and gifted RN all the way back then, was also the only Collins sister I actually dated. ’76. One official date. An enjoyable disaster. She was completely immune to my charms. Right?! Must be fiction. But we remain friends to this day. Never date a guy friend’s sister.

Well, my recent recitation of the physical anomaly – whether real or fictitious – in the last posted blog must have been too descriptive as it drew RN Collins out of the shadows and into posting a familial centered medical inquiry over my general health given my elder statesman status. Theresa, I am fit as a fiddle. I was probably just ascending to the fifth dimension. Thank you for your concern. Love to the family!

Now, back to synchronicities.

Yesterday, as I was driving through Loveland – what a great named Town – I was waiting at a stoplight at the very busy Eisenhower artery when I spotted the twitching ears in the above photo. Closeup, below.

Now given my obsessive Greenman concern for all of Mother Nature’s creatures, especially bunnies, I immediately worried about this lone bunny being too close to the busy streets. As this light is particularly long, I obsessively grabbed my iPhone and snapped a photo of Mr. Bunny.

When the light changed and I slowly passed my furry friend, I noticed the very cool sign offering a “Professional Bat Removal” service for the locals. Now given I am a big fan of bats – who consume tons of pests like mosquitos and flies – on a daily basis – I found this interesting. What a great job. Indeed, I had earlier that morning snapped a photo of a young hawk (also very cool) sitting on the Casa Claire bat house ,

who then took off – thank God without snatching one of our feral bunnies.

I’m always thinking about the bats and their bat house (as captured in TWA) as I gaze out back, but I digress (again) – I was thrilled to later learn that I actually captured the Professional Bat Removal sign in that same bunny photo,

Synchronicity – bunny, bat house & bat sign – but it gets better.

When I examined the photo more closely, I spotted this on the back of the car waiting at the light directly in front of me.

So that brought my bunny to bat synchronicity chain full circle at a time when I would have otherwise been working away on yesterday’s blog.

Well, I did get back to work the blog this morning.

But it is Saturday, so lots of chores await me.

You fine, five readers go see if you can find those literary references mentioned above in The Claire Saga (especially the pizza scene).

I’m going out now to cuddle those kitties and make my rounds.

But whatever else we get up to, let us make today a great one.

  1. GM! Missed you yesterday but I enjoyed today’s blog. Lots of family name dropping 😂
I’ll admit I’m okay not living where the is a need for professional bat removal services. But I would love the idea of just moseying along on foot or in a car and seeing so many other 4 legged animals you see in your beautiful surroundings. I enjoy your blogs and love to hear and see the pics about Claire, Honey and Blue plus the cats, the crows, ravens, foxes etc. all make me wish I could come by Casa Claire for a visit. It would be the icing on the cake having the opportunity to see you, Lisa, Luke and family.
    Have a great Saturday!!
