Every Day Is A Gift.

Pressure is off with TWA sitting at #2. But if these were three siblings on the leader board during the NFL draft, I’d say the literary family is still off to a great day.

Again, these rankings are fleeting, and in the big scheme of things, mean nothing.

There are still wars, disease, hunger, conflict, strife.

I wish I could wave a magic wand and fix the world. I can’t.

But I can still look at each day as a gift. A chance to help the next person I can.

I know I’ve been blessed and lucky.

So I try to pay it forward. One person at a time.

Donations whenever possible. I like the hand-to-hand ones. So I know its getting to a living person, not funding an organization.

Maybe just help someone escape from a shitty life for a moment with a story.

Or make someone laugh. Maybe just try to be supportive. Listen. Not much, I know, but it’s something.

Little things add up. Do what you can whenever the opportunity arises.

It’s often a moment to moment thing.

I figure that if enough people started doing that, it could make a difference.

Maybe not change the world, but maybe just the part that you are in.

So, every day is a gift, a chance to make a difference.

And I’ll take that. Every day.

Now my day must turn to work.

But first, a kitty cuddle, my rounds and the dreadmill.

You fine, five readers, go out there and make your little bit of difference in the world.

Be nice to someone who needs it. Whatever that means.

But most of all, have a great day.

  1. Thanks Tommy!
That’s a wonderful thought to start my day. Every day is wrapped different with challenges, obstacles, disappointments as well as excitement, success and happiness but that’s a great reminder that I need to remember “each day is a gift” to enjoy and share with others!
    Have a great day!!

  2. Our grandsons school theme is BE KIND…. it really is that simple, you never know what another person is going through.

side note: this thought just came to my mind: never pass a lemonade stand without stopping and always buy girl scout cookies from the girls in front of a store.

Book ratings come and go yet you already know your worth so don’t sweat it Tom.
