Early Morning Ponderings

Yesterday was a good day.

With the help of an amazing YouTube video, I was able to complete the one emergent but mandatory repair project at Casa Claire – a badly leaking kitchen sink faucet.

Viola!

Although I chipped a nail in the process of cleaning the copper sink. But its worth the trouble, as I love its spiritual properties.

Surprisingly, taking care of my manly duties wasn’t the highlight of the morning.

It started when I went out under the full moon in the early morning hours.

The Mules were out front, but Claire heard me and came around the side of the house.

Add then Claire and Honey came down by the Giant’s Causeway

Claire stopped for a moment to see what I was up to

Before she and Honey came down through the side gate

And finally arrived inside the new barn for breakfast.

But the moon was so beautiful, I had to keep snapping photos

And Yorick was certainly enjoying the lunacy.

But it was when I headed out to Home Depot to buy the replacement faucet kit, that I got to really enjoy new and wonderous things.

For example, I saw the 3 Witches calling to the Moon

and then I spotted some cows getting their moonglow on

But, over my shoulder, the sun wasn’t about to be outshone,

and these ducks were rewarded for their patience.

But then I felt something staring at me as I stood alone on the side of the back road in the early dawn snapping photos.

When this other bald creature saw me starting to snap his photo, he took to the sky, and it was majestic.

But the National Symbol wasn’t alone, as a large heron, once sharing the lake with the ducks, now was also enjoying the morning sky

So, content with Mother Nature’s floor show, I hopped into my Toyota – yes, the one from The Claire Saga – and continued on to Home Depot.

However, on the way back Gaia had one more treat for me. A herd of the cows I called the Oreo Double Stuffed in TWA, were now enjoying some time in one of the fields I was passing, so I had to pull over snap a photo.

Of course, Lisa was wondering where I had gotten off to. I had been gone for hours and my ringer was off. And she made her displeasure quite clear as I walked through the front door. You would think that she would have gotten used to my mindless meanderings by now.

But I quickly redeemed myself, and was later beyond reproach, as I rolled up my sleeves and not only replaced the leaky faucet assembly with an expensive Moen version, scrubbed the copper sink clean(ish),and then curried additional favor by then washing all of the night before dishes that had been accumulating due to the extremely bad leak in the faucet.

Well, I’m not sure how far yesterday’s good will will carry today, so I better get out and take care of today’s chores. Shopping, shit shoveling, and topping off the troughs. No rest for this wicked.

But first some kitties to cuddle and rounds to make.

You fine, five readers handle whatever human religious obligations you may have, then get out there and enjoy nature’s religion. You never know what you may see. But you will only see it if you stop to look.

Don’t worry, you’ll be back on the couch in plenty of time to watch football.

And no matter what else we get up to, let’s make today a great one.
