Okay, I am a huge fan about everything JK Rowling. I’ve always enjoyed her books, but I greatly admire her back story of how she changed her life to become who she is today.
She overcame personal relationship problems and financial difficulties, endured the early rejection of her first HP book and refused to let third parties dictate who she was and who she then became. She refused to quit. She manifested with literary magic a series that has changed the lives of so many and entertained millions.
As a writer of sci-fi and fantasy, who would love to reach similar literary heights, I am in awe of her talent and success.
In short, I am a JKR Fanboy.
Now, despite all of her decades of generosity to many charities and worthy public causes, JKR has incurred the unbridled wrath of the extreme fringes of the Transexual community because of her steadfast position on biology governing emotion.
As a result, she is the victim of regular and vicious social media barrages from the fringe. However, true to the iron will and backbone that forged her personality, she does not shy away from the fray. For example, on X, JKR is absolutely amazingly fearless on how cleverly she deflects, deters and destroys all comers on this issue.
She does not start or look for a fight. But she ends them all.
I have read these exchanges on a daily basis. You cannot help but cheer her on as she verbally pummels anyone who dares to fire a shot across her bow.
I have many a loud guffaw to thank her for.
Over the months since I have returned to X, I have watched these skirmishes from the sidelines.
But yesterday, JKR’s exchange just drew me out of the shadows, and I had to chime in with all of the hundreds of thousands of her followers, never thinking anyone would notice this voice in the Chorus, especially JKR herself.

But she did. And responded with a one off bon mot, but it made my day, week, year.

Now, given the multitudes of adoring followers JKR has on social media, I am old and wise enough to appreciate that I’m certain I didn’t register on JKR’s radar when she responded. But I still wanted to make a record of the event for posterity. And when the time comes that The Claire Saga becomes another wonderful film series that hopefully draws from and attracts members of JKR’s fan base, and it will, I will take the opportunity to thank her for this moment, that made this almost geriatric sci-fi/fantasy writer come out of the closet and admit that he is her Fanboy.
And while I did not dare mention anything about the first part of JKR’s retort to Aidan Comerford, with all due respect to this literary titan, I will allow the character Jimmy Moran to chime in this one time and concur that to the objective eye, we share her confidence that her “breasts are valid.”
Now, the rest of you fine five readers go out there and make today a great one.
