I took that photo shortly after my arrival in NoCo and I remember thinking at the time that I had really arrived in Oz. I literally stopped my Toyota, hopped out, left it running in the middle of the road, and walked back down the street so I could get a better photo because it was one of the many “no one’s going to believe this” moments that I have experienced since I arrived at Casa Claire.
I have since seen many rainbows over Casa Claire since then and each one reminds me just how magical my life has been over the past nine years.
Of course, it all begins and ends with Claire.

My latest example was my deciding to begin writing Spark of Faith this past summer on the 2026 Summer Solstice and completing it on August’s full moon, just before my deadline.

I’ve since spent the last month sharing the ms with other writers, ARC/Beta readers and making final tweaks.
I turned that final draft into Mary Ellen Bramwell at BRW yesterday, on the first day of the Harvest Moon window.

And my expended creative efforts for this seventh novel were immediately rewarded with a beautiful rainbow here at Casa Claire.
On a mystical level, Rainbows are bridges between the physical and spiritual realms, a connection between the human and divine, and are recognized symbols of, among other things, new opportunities, hope and guidance, fulfilled promises, and that dreams and wishes can come true.

And given the subject matter of SOF yesterday’s rainbow was my personal and magical confirmation that I had accomplished what I set out to do in writing that story.

Gotta have faith.
So, here we are – my fine, five readers – with another wonderful Saturday to relish and enjoy.
Go knock of the morning weekend errands and then launch into whatever tickles your fancy.
It’s just cool enough for a sweater, coffee and a book on the front porch or tucked away in some comfy nook inside. A glass or two of wine can be freely substituted and indeed, may make the experience even more enjoyable.
But no matter what we get up to, let’s make today a great one.
