Yesterday, Casa Claire hosted its first kids party. The reviews are in, it was a raving success.
All of the senior members of the Beverly Drive Children’s Auxiliary welcomed the return of Scarlett Rose (below in the red with stars pattern) along with a best friend Thomas, (on Scarlett’s right) from Scarlett’s pre-Oz school in Longmont.
Notice the shit eating grin on Thomas’ face. To give Thomas his props, he had just manned up to having a wasp stinger removed from his right pointy finger, and was handling the aftereffects like a champ. The other young man with his back to the photo, Quinn – very cool name – and a mischievous look on his face, ended up with even a larger shit eating grin, but more on that later.
The party was a secret invitation only event. I would be lying if I denied being approached by anonymous persons seeking to purchase entry to the event. And had to hire Claire and Honey to work the gate and provide additional security to keep away the paparazzi (Claire offered the security service for free, given how kind Scarlett’s character had been to her in The Claire Saga).
Yes, this is a 2d Amendment property.
Anyway, the weather cleared up (at first) so we had lots of sunshine for most of the party.
Which was centered (mostly) on the front property.
Because that was the easiest way to keep an eye on everything and the most level property for the bouncy castle water slide. That’s Zach, a giant from Louisiana (thick drawl and polite as all hell) putting the final touches on the castle.
Which allowed time for Scarlett to come in from the side of the house and make her grand entrance appropriately dressed as a princess with tiara. Unfortunately, the royal photographer had a difficult time keeping up with Her Majesty and just got this photo before she disappeared into the crowd.
But Princess Scarlett was very forgiving and immediate engaged with her siblings and friends in the bouncy castle water slide (courtesy of the fairy godmothers, v&b, who unfortunately were unable to make the party.
And this is where all of the children enjoyed themselves for most of the day.
There was a Faerie Treasure Hunt with Maps and Riddles and Gemstones and prizes that everyone really seemed to enjoy.
And there was a piñata (to commemorate Scarlett’s Latin Heritage through Lisa’s Marrero maternal line) that everyone enjoyed.
But then the wind came. And tables and tents were blown over and had to be disassembled by frantic parents on the move. Quite the adventure.
But the kids were smart and took their party down to the safely enclosed Skyclad hot tub, where I got to capture Quinn’s shit eating grin,
With very good reason. For not only had he been one of the attendees at the very special birthday at the magical Casa Claire, but by the time the winds chased us from the outside, he was the only young man left in attendance, and got to share Skyclad with a bevy of future beauties.
There were whispers among the crew of future hot tub parties after my suggested passage beyond the veil. Must sleep with one eye open from now on.
But I want to thank all of the adults and children for making Scarlett’s coming home birthday party such a pleasure and a success.
You are the folks that Georgie, Luke and the kids missed most during their adventure Down Under.
Now you fine, five readers slowly get out there and enjoy your summer Sunday.
Get outside, enjoy nature, visit friends and family.
I’m going to go cuddle some kitties and make my rounds.
And no matter what else we all get up to, let us make today a great one.
Scarlett, I’m so happy you enjoyed your magical birthday party. Nona and The Dude love you very much.

Happy Birthday Scarlett,!🎂
I can feel the fun as I read the words and just enjoy all the pics.
What a fabulous perk for you and Lisa to be able to celebrate the grans’ birthdays and all the special occasions that occur as the next generation grows up, albeit too quickly.
Thanks so much for sharing. Have a wonderful Sunday.
