A Beautiful Friday The 13th

Yesterday was quiet, sunny and hot at Casa Claire.

Friday the 13th, always lucky for me, and the day started out with a swim and then a trip to Einstein’s Bagels in Loveland, so it’s only appropriate that the town live up to its name sake and offer me a heart shaped balloon flying over the EB parking lot at my arrival.

Maybe it’s all part of Einstein’s Spooky Action At A Distance at work.

One of my lovely NoCo TikTok compadres, Cindy Lawson – https://www.tiktok.com/@cylawson0 – who is absolutely amazing at clipping dog nails – did both Cairo and Blue – offered an interesting comment that the balloon looked like testicles. I guess it’s all a matter of flexibility, positioning and perspective. In my experience, a red sack is better than a blue one.

But the magical/testicle balloon was a harbinger of good things to come, as my Bagel order came with a free Bagel sandwich that morning. Free always makes things a little better.

Lisa had some errands to run in the morning, which included a stop at a local garden center.

I got to unconventionally meditate about the wonders of life under The Old Man while the dogs and mules ambled about, doing their thing for my amusement.

Indeed, I felt like I was still enjoying my Staycation.

But then Lisa returned from her errands with three large pots of flowers that she wanted to place in the large empty pots out in the Jack the Spruce Grotto.

She said it needed a few additional splashes of color.

I did everything I could to put it off. It was extremely hot by that point of the day. My back doesn’t recover as easily as it once did. Lisa wasn’t having it.

So, I gave in and repotted the new plants. After all, aside from the aesthetic upgrade, more flowers draws and feeds more pollinators.

And it did look nice afterwards.

And as always, Aleve was there to set my aching back to rights.

And there were no afternoon thunderstorms to darken our horizons, so I did get to get some further lounging and earthing and tree hugging in before and after sundown.

So, Friday’s naturally adhering magic was supplemented by a quiet and beautiful day even where I was compelled to add to the natural beauty of Casa Claire.

I am truly blessed.

Well, today is June 14th, flag day, and the heavenly birthdays of both my and Lisa’s fathers. Happy birthday Ed and Norb.

Berthoud is offering a couple of large farmers markets and flea market in town that, after my morning chores, I hope to swing through. One man’s junk is this man’s treasure.

I hope you fine five readers get a chance to get out and about in the sunshine and fresh air. Maybe find some time to sit under a tree and read that free copy of TWA that Amazon is offering its Prime Members all summer long.

But whatever else we do, let us make today a great one.
