I love the fall. Turning of the wheel – far less confining. Hurtling towards Halloween. My favorite holiday.
Makes me focus on the Old Ways.
Especially after the recent painting and furniture adventures. Renewal.
Started off yesterday by cleansing my home’s energy of bad mojo with a little Salt (purity, cleansing, protection, and the removal of negative energy or obstacles) blown out my front door and a little prosperity blown back in with some cinnamon (warmth, fire, attraction, abundance, prosperity, and good fortune).

Of course, that reminded me of another thing on my Honey Do List. The grans have managed to repeatedly push the original doorstopper behind that front portal deep into the wallboard.

So, I went looking for a interesting block of wood to place over the indent in the wall board in order to create the industructible door stopper.
Found this ornate peice in a local curiosity shop and with a little spray paint, Voila!

On the way to and from town, I learned a valuable lesson. Horses not only can drive here in NoCo

but they can read as well.

Otherwise, why have a specific warning against their tailgating? I must ask Claire. Luckily, as a non-equine, the warning didn’t apply to me.
When I returned home I found that my replacement Dish receiver had arrived, which was surprisingly fast, given that I only spoke with the lovely woman customer representative in the Phillipenes on Sunday. The old one had crapped out after 8 years of reliable service. After setting up the new one and letting it download and reboot, I got to speak with another lovely woman customer representative in South Africa, while we jointly determined, after many failed attempts, that the 8 year old controller also decided to crap out in solidarity with the replaced receiver. So, I must await until it’s now shipped replacement arrives before I learn if it will be compatable with the new reciever. I wonder what citizen of what country I’ll speak to next?!!
Luckily, that Dish technical hiccup didn’t interfere with my internet based television viewing, which arrives through a separate satellite dish on my roof, so I was able to binge watch through the last of season 3 of Ted Lasso. Inspired viewing. Highly recommend for the best in bingeable television.
And the technical Dish glitch forced me to separate myself from the 24/7 news feed, which I found refreshing. Morever, as a ardent adherent to the magic of quantum theory, given my inability to observe what was going on in the outside world, under the Quantum Observer Effect, nothing happened anyway, until I observe it –

So all is well.
And when I finally let the Beagle Brothers out before going to bed, I wrapped up my first October day with some solid waxing moon grounding.

I wonder if my neighbors ever quantumly fix my nocturnal practices.
They really might want to be careful if they follow the Gladys Kravitz school of observation, or they may get more than they bargain for.

Which reminds me that today is the closing of this week’s round of the Face of Halloween contest, and given that I remain wedged in Second Place, I may no longer remain observerable in that realm on a Quantum Level if one comes looking for me tomorrow.
