The opening shot for today’s blog was the dogs having a mirror image lie in this morning, it being Friday. Tell you the truth, I’m having a tough time getting started as well.
Yesterday was a quiet Thursday. The animals all spent time in the front area where it was respectively cooler and sunny.
They all came to the drive fencing to watch me put out the recyclables. I’m glad someone is keeping an eye on me.

Claire had a psychic confab with the tiny new gnome, who hasn’t shared his name just yet. No worries. He’ll come around. Claire just gave him the lay of the Ley Lines. She runs a tight, if not also a fantastically mystical and magical ship here at Casa Claire.
My new friend and creative JT came up with 5 amazing 90-second Proof of Concept scripts – one per novel –
CINEMATIC TRAILER SCRIPT – “The Wise Ass” by Tom McCaffrey
and the inner circle all seemed pleased with the result, so we are going to move forward on the first one for TWA and see how that turns out. My inner circle each shared their great insights which helped build the confidence in the project.
The scripts each reflect the individual story from that particular book but ties each one into the others through narrative and foreshadowing imagery. However, it doesn’t give away the golden nuggets that can only be found by reading the novels.
So all of those people out there who refuse to read will be able to get their hit of imaginative TCS crack for all five novels in about 7 and 1/2 minutes, total. Hopefully, that will interest filmmakers and producers who have reduced their non-literary attention span to the length of a Tik Tok feed.
I read all five scripts to Claire, even trying to mimic the deep voice-over narration, which didn’t impress, until I played her the VO from the first script, and then she approved wholeheartedly.
Most importantly, Lisa came around to the idea, so we are off to the races.
Thank you one and all.
Will keep you posted.
Well, as I mentioned, TGIF.
You fine, five readers should have hopefully wrapped up your weekly business and can slip out the side door right into a fun weekend.
Among my other weekend chores, I want to clear and refresh the cat bunker under The Jack The Spruce Grotto and also Smokey’s front porch hostel so they are all ready for fall. It’s nice having chores that aren’t related to children’s parties and most likely won’t kill me in the process.
But no matter what else we get up to, let us each make today a great one.
