C’est fini!

“The party’s over
It’s time to call it a day
They’ve burst your pretty balloon
And taken the moon away”

The Party’s Over – Nat King Cole

It was true, by the time yesterday ended, the Universe had taken the moon away, with an amazing black sky,

then suddenly lit by lightening, in the coolest thunderstorm ever,

but by my early morning tree-hugging grounding session (and boy did I need it), the last of the full moon was back, over a fully electrically charged Casa Claire,

accompanied by Jupiter and Venus, a celestial harbinger – https://duastro.com/blog/venus-jupiter-conjunction-blessings#:~:text=The%20combination%20of%20Venus%20&%20Jupiter,artistic%20talents%20social%20charm%20&%20generosity.

And peace had returned to Casa Claire.

But I digress.

Yesterday was a very long day, which started by me dropping the Beagle Brothers for their doggie day care and another set of baths and mani-pedis.

Then it was back to Casa Claire for the last of the party set up, and I have placed a video on my FB page that shows it just about done.

I have grabbed some stills from it for those who can’t be bothered (although you’ll miss my off colored commentary),

Lisa worked non-stop to make sure everything was perfect, and I returned the favor with creative epithets under my breath to thank her for her efforts. But I must give credit where credit is due. Lisa brings out the very best in our family. And we wouldn’t have half the Hallmark memories we do, without her hand in it.

Finally, the the belle of the ball arrived.

To open the magic gate to NoCo’s Casa Claire Neverland.

And then Georgie’s Awesome Aussie Moss Branch of the Clan – (more proof that we’ve added Elven blood to our McCaffrey Hobbit Bloodline)

I did spend some quality time catching up with Nigel, in between sprints of party support services.

And before you know it, the place was chock full of children and their parents.

And then we all ate delicious pizza, I might have over-ordered – 8 large pies – because I sent some home with the guests and I still have some left over.

And then we all wished Scarlett a Happy Birthday.

And throughout the day, Scarlett led the urchins throughout the property and house – exercising primogenitor rights to her still claimed bedroom on the first floor, where they laughed and had chips and drinks and left muddy footprints from their trips back and forth from the Water bouncy castle and pool.

In short, a good time was had by all.

I never even had to block off the back property – Claire and Honey were the most hospitable of hosts by staying clear of the strangers to the party. They spent the whole day out back.

And before you knew it, the masses had left and the party had deflated.

Scarlett had already gotten pretty earrings from Nona, which she showed me upon her arrival.

But before Scarlett hopped in the family caravan to return to her family home, Lisa took her aside and gave her those special gifts that only a mystical grandmother can share with her mystical eldest granddaughter. I didn’t even get to see them. But I understand they were very cool and well appreciated.

For I was too busy going out and picking up the Beagle brothers from Doggy Day Care, and once we got back into the house, they each claimed their spot on me and the recliner.

We were all knackered.

But to tell the truth, it was a perfect day for a perfect party for a perfect granddaughter.

Happy Birthday Scarlett.

Before I close, I would like to give a special shout out to one of Scarlett’s school friends, Sophie, who I first noticed, off alone from the crowd of splashing schoolmates, climbing the ladder to nowhere on the Ladies’ copse, and later engaged in deep conversations with the creatures in the Jack The Spruce Grotto. This young lady just oozed Fae, a Luna Lovegood for our times, so I went over and introduced her to all of the magical members of the Casa Claire family in and around the JTS Grotto, and shared some stories about each of them with her. This young girl was absolutely enchanting, she just ran with the imaginary momentum, and I made sure to tell her father – an Engineer with Google – that she was destined to be a writer some day.

Well, our most uninvited guest, Monday, has returned. So I better get moving.

I know and appreciate that, given the run up to the main event, you fine, five readers are just checking in on the Blog as a proof of life – or proof that I’m not yet facing a life term. Well, there you go, I made it.

But no matter what else we get up to, let us make today a great one.

  1. Once again you and Lisa have created another Hallmark Lifetime memory for the family. Even with Scarlett being the guest of honor her sisters, parents and all the family and friends who made it there to celebrate will have another memory to put into their treasure chest of memories. Great job guys! But I’m sure you’re more than happy for it to be behind you. Now it’s the clean up and reality time.

  2. What a beautiful party you had for your Granddaughter, Scarlett!
Your descriptive thoughts and feelings just crack me up!
