Forty Months In – The Wise Ass Ebook Is Free Through The End Of August

It still feels like a dream.

The Wise Ass, my debut novel, was published on February 18, 2021. Seems like yesterday. When you are in your late 60s, three years is a blink of the eye. Relativity.

On April 16, 2024, just over 38 months later, the rest of the five book series, The Claire Saga, has come to life and completion with the publication of Where The Ley Lines Meet.

Somebody pinch me.

And now, 40 months in, I learned yesterday that TWA was selected by Amazon for its Prime Reading Program, where anyone with an Amazon Prime membership can download and read a copy of TWA for free for the summer months of June through August, 2024.

And while TWA has not captured that top ribbon on the webpage just yet, that tagline would apply just as readily to The Claire Saga.

Moneywise, it’s like me handing TWA out for free. I won’t see a penny. I’m not even sure what it will do for my total sales numbers. But believe it or not, I don’t make any money from my writing. As Lisa says, it’s the most expensive hobby I’ve ever had.

But readership wise, it’s like handing out that first hit of literary crack for free. I’m hoping you’ll sit with that TWA ebook at some vacation spot over the next three months (or during the trips to and from) and let the literary hook sink deep in your soul. Introduce yourself to Jimmy, Gina, and then magical Claire and her motley and mystical crew of the misfits of Casa Claire. Fall in love with these characters. Travel through dimensions and space. You’ll see that family arrives in one’s life in many forms and there is Love, lots of love. Think Goodfellas meets The Wizard of Oz. Pure escapism. As the brilliant Irish writer Colin Broderickexciting news concerning him later this week – so artfully coined the phrase “This is Grisham on mushrooms.

I’m hoping most readers snatch up this freebie like I once snatched up Jimmy Betz’s copy of The Hobbit in the early 70s of the last century – I told you, I’m old – and then, after burning through that book, almost shit myself when I learned that there was an epic follow-up to that story called Lord Of The Rings.

You see, I know that if you read TWA for free, you’ll be more than willing to spend the rest of your summer reading An Alien Appeal, Kissing My Ass Goodbye, Finding Jimmy Moran and finally, Where The Ley Lines Meet. Claire will become your next Gandalf. Jimmy, your newest Bilbo/Frodo.

And the motley crew is cooler than any literary crew that has come before them. Read the existing reviews.

I know, it’s quite a boast. But I have nothing to lose by making it.

And now you have this free opportunity to see if I’m full of shit.

Maybe you’ll be so blown away you’ll get right on the phone with that third cousin through marriage that is dating someone in some Hollywood producer’s office and clue them into the magic. Do it early enough and they can also download it for free.

Remember, there is magic in this world, if you know where to look for it.

So let’s see if I can tempt whichever members of the fine, five readers have not yet read my works beyond these blogs. Try The Wise Ass for free this summer. This week, if you have the balls. I betcha ya can’t eat just one.

But if like Mikey, you try it and like it, please do me a favor and post a review on Amazon. Let them know that they made the right choice putting TWA in their Prime Reading Program. Maybe the other books will make the list.

Well, now it’s Sunday, and I have outdoor chores to see to.

You fine, five readers should go and download TWA – and tell your friends to do the same. Even if you already have a hard copy. Add it to your Kindle library for safe keeping.

Me? I’m going to cuddle some kitties and make my rounds.

But whatever else we get up to on this day of rest, let us make today a great one.
