Yesterday, Dr. Clarence Sitzman, DMV (Retired) came by Casa Claire to get Claire to give him her autograph to mount on his office wall. As an afterthought, he also figured he’d get me to sign three of The Claire Saga (hardcover) books he has purchased and read.
Claire came right over to him, which showed me that she knew he was a kind person. She wouldn’t let me touch her face until months after I met her.
Clarence was delightful. Easygoing, great sense of humor. Not “full of himself” as Posey would say.
Claire even let him halter her. Then she let him lift her front right leg and paint the bottom of her hoof with blue paint, and then place her hoof down on the soft paper for a print. Easy peasy.
He then showed her how well it turned out, submitting it for her approval.
Given that I am Claire’s scribe, she let me fill in the details.
She has a big hoof. That’s the first time she has issued an autograph.
There’s even a little smudge of mule muffin DNA embedded in the hoof print.
Afterwards, I showed Doc around Claire’s stomping ground. He seemed to enjoy the tour.
After Doc’s retirement, he continued to volunteer at the Peter Emily Foundation, where he performs dental surgery on large animals like lions, tigers & bears. How cool is that?! https://peteremilyfoundation.org/
PEIVDF
They perform dental work on large animals from sanctuaries all over the US.
God bless them all, including Doc.
Claire’s hoofprint will be placed on the wall of his office along with the prints of other very large and cool wild animals.
So it was my honor and privilege to see Claire spend some quality time with Doc, and for me to inscribe his books.
I even added an inscribed copy of FJM to Doc’s collection.
He, in turn, gave me this wonderful pen that he hand carved just for me.
I will use it to sign my name to the many Hollywood contracts that will flow from these books when the time comes.
It’s always good to know a Vet, when you have a fur family.
Especially, someone as nice as Doc Clarence.
I look forward to seeing Doc again.
So does Claire.
Well, it’s hump day. Time to get moving.
You fine, five readers get your skates on and attack the hill. Friday is within sight.
I’ve got to get everything done in time to race out to the airport and pick up Lisa.
Whatever is on our respective to do lists, let’s make today a great one.

What a cool life🙂
Wouldn’t trade my life for the world.
⭐️🤩Claire’s a celebrity!!
I hope you also got a hoof print!
He was putting in all the work. I didn’t want to Bogart the moment. Anyway, I got the hoof!
Reading your post today was my first thing to do this morning. Ok, my second. But it was very pleasant to hear about Doc, Claire, the autograph procedure, etc. The pen was very impressive too…a real piece of art.
Hey Stan, how are you?! Glad to see you are still reading the blogs.
