Went outside at 2:30 a.m. because I was awake and the Beagle Brothers woke up and started doing animated “I’ve got to pee” laps around the bed. I didn’t want them to wake Lisa.
Didn’t check the temp before exiting the house in my hoodie and boxers but learned from the resulting two clear energy imprints that even in 8-degree Fahrenheit, 98.6-degree feet will melt snow. Cold grounding/tree hugging works just as well as a warm one. So, I’m all electronically balanced for the day.
Yesterday, was a good day for this writer. I received the mockup of the back cover of Free Radical with writers’ blurbs (having already signed off on the front cover last week), and the Inner Circle loved it. Thank you, Richard Lamb. (2) Richard Lamb | LinkedIn

I also received a touching and wonderful “Introduction” for the opening of the novel from my dear friend and mentor Colin Broderick – Colin Broderick – IMDb – ‘Once Upon A Time In Hell’s Kitchen’: Colin Broderick’s New Novel – Bing Videos – so I wrapped it all up in a bow and sent it to Reagan Rothe at BRW – Black Rose Writing – who responded with a “Terrific. Material received.” Less than three months from project concept to completion. I’ll still have to review and approve the publisher’s final version, which is when you catch the final typos, but given the terrific job the IC has done on this one, I’m feeling really good about it. While there is a hard street date of January 2027 for the novel’s publication, I’m hoping an earlier slot opens up in the second half of 2026. BRW has bumped my release dates forward in the past. Fingers crossed.
If I can get everything wrapped up that needs to be wrapped up on FR over the next few weeks, I’m leaning towards starting another novel in March – April at the latest. A medical/mystical/spiritual drama. Figured I would expand the literary pallet. That next one would bump my bibliography to seven novels,

plus, an essay published in CB’s Writing Irish of New York –

which, given the other Irish writers in this collection, is an absolute literary coup for this BIC.
Once I get the next one-off novel behind me, I’m going to return to surviving characters gathering at Casa Claire at the end of WTLLM in The Claire Saga and see where that new generation takes me.
Hemingway published seven novels during his lifetime (plus two posthumously) — Ernest Hemingway bibliography – Wikipedia – so I better get a move on.
But not today. Today I need to take care of the outside chores in short bursts, so I don’t die from exposure.
You fine, five readers play the “God’s Day of rest” card. Sit by a fireplace or in a cozy nook and watch that film you’ve been putting off. Better yet, read a book, any book. If you need a suggestion, Claire recommends The Claire Saga.
If you are really bored, you can watch football. I hear Denver is set to take NE off the chessboard at about midday, and two other teams are vying later this afternoon to come in second at the Superbowl.
And no matter what we get up to, let’s make today a great one.
